![]() ![]() At the time of writing, there are over 80,000 components in the library. The library is by no means complete but it does provide a large on-line library of components to choose from. ModelSource is Designspark’s free on-line database of component models. So like all good software users I went to the manual to find out more, OK, I simply started to play with the feature and here’s a summary of what I found. Shortly after Designspark version 5 was released, I noticed a new toolbar in the bottom lefthand corner of the interface. ![]() Designspark on the other hand, feels like a Windows application. Personally, I find the interface counter intuitive. There are many blender tutorials you can look through for similar resultsI have been a great fan of Designspark for a while. No direct urgent need either since I mostly use blender and lightwave, but when I enter 3D printing, I think I would like to spend some time with that as well.Īs for the 3D tutorial by phil nolan, don´t know how good it is or what extra it can bring to the table. The tragedy is however that I haven´t had time to work with Designsparks mechanical that much. ![]() Some pretty awesome stuff you can do, and always parametrical to go in and edit measurement after a fillet, or scale etc, varied fillet diameters etc, cloning, pipes, draw on surface etc.Ī reminder of solid works, easier to work with than free cad, though freecad has some more powerful tools.but isn´t as user friendly, I tried to get an engineer to start up with freecad when we neededĪ tool to be constructed, so I tried to instruct him in to the 3D world, but he didn´t like freecad, then I suggested Designsparks, and that he liked and could use. I found that design sparks mecanical offered more stuff, and quite easy to use as well, while moi was too simplified.and a huge difference in cost, where moi costs, designsparks is free. ![]()
